Angus & Tegan
OUR THANKS
We deliver events daily. That's our job. We engage the most trusted and loyal suppliers, to deliver the best outcome for our clients. And our wedding was going to be no different. We had to have the best. We needed to have the most trusted.
Food and wine was always going to be important to us on our wedding day. Our relationship is built on a passion for great dining experiences, and we wanted to share that with our guests.
Enter Harvest, Sam Jennings, and Ally Waddell.
We knew the quality of Harvest, having visited the Newrybar gem on numerous occasions whilst visiting family in the area, and so there really was no one else we wanted to consider for our Lindendale wedding.
The idea was a multi-stage feast, starting on the family lawn with local oysters and a Harvest grazing table, in to a 2-course shared main meal of succulent fish and slow-cooked beef, along with crisp salads and vegetables, before devouring Harvest cheeses, chocolates, and a few sweet snacks.
Sam Jennings, Harvest Events Manager, made things a dream. A site visit early on was all that was required for Sam to understand our vision, before half-a-dozen or so emails you to the wedding date. Nothing ever fazed her. (See note below about what happened on the wedding day). Sam's communication is clear, concise, and her demeanour is warm and extremely approachable. Under no circumstances should you have your wedding day without her there. You might think you have everything under control, but Sam will ask 'have you considered this', or 'what are you going to do in this situation'. Sam was worth every penny!!
It's important that we don't forget the entire team, from bar staff, wait staff, sous chefs, and kitchen hands. Not one single person skipped a beat on our wedding day, and it was rewarding for us to see the staff enjoying servicing our wedding.
And if you are lucky enough to have Head Chef Ally Waddel cooking for you... embrace it. We have both known Ally from previous employment, and we were ecstatic to be able to have him present for our special day. Ally spoke to our wedding guests and shared both his love of the fresh produce, and the menu for our guests. A really important moment within our formalities.
Would we recommend Harvest for a wedding, or an important celebration? In a heartbeat. Will you get value-for-money? You bet you will, and so much more. Will your guests still be complementing you 6-months on that it was the best wedding dining experience they have ever been to? I have no doubt they will, because that is still happening to us.
We are eternally grateful for the professionalism, warmth, and care that Sam, Ally and the team at Harvest brought to our wedding, and we genuinely believe that they made our wedding day, the most wonderful wedding that it was.
Now... we mentioned why it's worth you paying for a premium service, and having the best in the business on hand to support you. Our wedding was mostly an outside wedding, with the dinner to be served in an undercover shed space. We did not have a wet-weather plan, as we honestly didn't think we needed one based on the weather forecast. Night before the wedding, 10mm of rain falls, but not to worry. Half-an-hour before guests arrive, another 2mm of rain falls, but again, not to worry, and we think that's the last of it - the sun is out, and it's a balmy 33-degrees. At 8:15pm we have finished our shared mains, we are wrapping up our speeches, and we take a glance at be radar. 5-minutes later the heavens open, and we break the drought with 10mm of rain fell. To us, it felt like an eternity. There was severe lightning, the rain was sheeting sideways, and the farm lost power. In the end, it was only 15-minutes, and before we knew it, Sam was on it. We had an operational bar up and running within minutes, we had music, and we were all safe. It's important to note that none of the shortfalls here in planning were with Harvest... but all of the problem solving, calmness, and level-heads were thanks to Sam. Her team ran around (carefully) through the wet weather, and ensured that no guest felt unsafe, or had an empty glass.
